At Sonoma, Alex Laughlin made his Pro Stock debut to kick off his racing career. He was successful in getting into each of Dallas’ seven events. He had a breakthrough season in the NHRA Pro Stock division in 2016 with stellar results. In St. Louis, he was successful in winning his first national competition.

In April 2017 as a Gas Monkey Energy Drink driver, he advanced to the Four-Wide Nationals semifinals. In March of the same year, he also competed in the 48th Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals. At the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in June, he was successful in taking home The Wally trophy. It was his biggest victory to date.

He participated in the K&N Horsepower Challenge, the National Championship, and the All-Stars Championship in 2018.
