They narrated different stories to Joe about icebergs that went by their house while living in St. John’s Newfoundland. They even told stories about how in times of winter the snow drifted so deep. The only way out of their house could be from a second-floor window.

He worked under Dr. Mel Goldstein. Later, Joe moved to Hartford and became the Director of The New England Weather Service. There, he did daily weather forecasting for clients such as Northeast Utilities. Joe has also done many radio station jobs such as in KC101, WAVZ, as well as WICC.
His tv career started at NEWS12 Connecticut. He then moved to Hartford. One of his most favorite weather stories is when Dr. Mel put Joe in charge of setting up their weather data recording station, It was a brand new weather station to be set on the roof above the WCSU’s weather office. Hurricane Gloria showed up a few weeks later. When the anemometer registered an 83 mph wind gust, they were all excited, and then the newly set weather station flew past the window and smashed on the ground while the team was watching.
