An OnlyFans model has filmed herself sobbing about not being able to take the perfect Instagram photo – as she revealed the toll of being an influencer has taken on her.

Ruby May, 25, who has a mass following on live streaming service Twitch and other social media platforms, shared a candid video to her YouTube account of herself having a ‘breakdown’ earlier this month.

‘It sounds so stupid, like it sounds pathetic but I just think I’m having an identity crisis,’ she said.

‘I don’t know what being myself is. For so long being sexy on Instagram has been me being myself even though it’s not.’

Ms May said she was trying to take a photo of herself outside in the sun to show a different side to her rather than the ‘sexy’ and risqué pictures she usually shares online – but it didn’t go to plan.

She added she wanted to share the raw footage of herself in tears to show her fans what actually goes on behind the scenes compared to what she posts online.

‘I literally started crying because I couldn’t get … it sounds so stupid because it’s about the sun … I just wanted to get one f***king good picture that was a different vibe and was things I’d like to see not just things that were dumb or for men,’ she said.

The 25-year-old said she had a ‘breakdown’ because she couldn’t take a photo of her in a new outfit, and said her followers would likely only care about a ‘selfie with my t***s out’

‘And I don’t know why it just upset me so much … I can’t even take a simple photo.

‘It just feels like I may as well keep doing what I’m doing because I know for a fact I could spend the whole day trying to get a photo in the sun and people won’t care as much as to if I just did a stupid selfie with my t**s out.

‘And I know that’s just how it is.’

A voice off camera was heard reassuring Ms May that she was just doing her job.

‘This stuff isn’t really you though, it’s just work,’ the friend said.

The English born model moved to Australia with her family when she was younger and now calls Sydney home.

She makes a living off her millions of followers on OnlyFans, Instagram, Twitch and YouTube.

‘I don’t know what being myself is. For so long being sexy on Instagram has been me being myself even though it’s not,’ Ms May said
