In 1990, David did his first stand-up comedy special for HBO called Sinbad: Brain Damaged. The special became recorded at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1993, David did his next stand-up special in New York City’s Paramount Theater at Madison Square Garden called Sinbad: Afros and Bellbottoms for which he received a 1995 Image Award. He became brought back in 1996 for Sinbad: Son of a Preacher Man and again in 1997, for Sinbad: Nothin’ but the Funk, and all have been released on VHS and DVD.
