Though running for 25 seasons, the show has managed to keep up with high ratings, thanks to its team of skilled writers. In May 2023, the episodes released were no short of action and intrigue. Sudesh, for the sake of his mental health, makes a life-changing decision.
Shady and Bonita, on the other hand, keep fighting for their relationship to thrive as they face some challenges. Also, Amorey’s dating troubles worsen, having found herself torn between two guys. Zee makes a decision in the best interest of his boyfriend and best friend. And Marvin isn’t willing to risk his reputation and career.
Ivy is overwhelmed by emotion and seems not to know how best to support her husband. Aggie is grateful to her friends for their support and is satisfied with the state of her love life.
While Marvin draws nearer to his faith, Amorey is determined to influence the perception Karmen holds about women.
The CPF and Werner take a strong stance against a team member. When Chris reveals his plans for the Welman legacy, the Welmans are quite touched.
Shady gets an offer to travel to Prague. Karmen plans a full day of activities for her and Vanessa to kick off the school holidays.
Bonita is uneasy about the situation with Shady. Uys and Zee try to get to the root of Sudesh’s allergic reaction.

Afrikaans soap opera,7de Laanis produced by Danie Odendaal Productions. Its producers are Thandi Ramathesele, Danie Odendaal, and André Basson. The show debuted on the South African public television network SABC2 on April 4th, 2000, and it’s presently in its 25th season. Though7de Laan‘s original language is Afrikaans, its subtitle is in English, and it also has some Zulu and English dialogue in between.
Created by Danie Odendaal, who is also one of the show’s producers,7de Laanfollows the lives of residents staying in and around the community of 7de Laan (7th Avenue), located in the suburb of Hillside. It has won several awards over the years, including the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) for Best Soapie.
In February 2023, Kyle Clark made his debut in the award-winning soap opera as the new medical doctor at Hillside Clinic. He portrays the character of charming and energetic doctor Sudesh Reddy. Even though Clark struggles to speak Afrikaans, language was not a barrier for him to be on the show.
